BMW Motorrad IE (hereinafter referred to as BMW) designs its website to be accessible in accordance with the provisions of the European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023 (S.I. No. 636/2023), (the “EEA Regulations”). This accessibility statement applies to the offer on the www.bmw-motorrad.ie.
In particular, the EAA Regulations oblige service providers among other things to design e-commerce services so that they are accessible and usable for people with disabilities in the usual way, without particular difficulty and, in principle, without external help.
1) General description of the service and descriptions and explanations to clarify how the service will be performed
BMW offers various e-commerce services (hereinafter referred to as “services”) on its website that enable customers to purchase products and services online. The available services have been described below.
Online content that is not part of the described services may not (yet) be completely accessible.
2) Purchase Vehicles Online
Ordering a vehicle online starts on the www.bmw-motorrad.ie. Depending on availability, different options are available for vehicle orders:
Customers can reserve vehicles from BMW Motorrad Retailers online using the website and have them delivered by BMW Motorrad Retailers.
Customers can use BMW Leasing at BMW Financial Services (Ireland) DAC (trading as BMW Motorrad Financial Services) vehicles without having to purchase them. In the case of a mileage-based leasing contract, vehicles are provided to customers following payment of a fixed monthly installment. The installment amount depends on the vehicle price as well as the agreed mileage and term. The term is usually between 24 and 48 months. In addition, service modules can be added, such as a repair service or tyre service.
A one-off special leasing payment can be made at the start of the contract to reduce the monthly installment. BMW Motorrad Financial Services may demand securities, such as a suretyship or security deposit. BMW Motorrad Financial Services remains the owner of the vehicle; customers are users of the vehicle. During the leasing period, they are responsible for insurance, maintenance and repairs of the vehicle.
The contract cannot be terminated ordinarily during the contractual leasing term. The right to extraordinary termination remains unaffected.
At the end of the contractual term, the vehicle must be returned in a condition corresponding to its age and the contractually agreed kilometer allowance. The vehicle must be free of damage and defects and be roadworthy and operationally safe. Normal traces of wear are not considered damage. In the final settlement, any excess or shortfall in kilometer allowance as well as any reduced values are settled. This may result in additional costs for customers.
Customers can be granted a certain amount as part of a loan agreement BMW Motorrad Financial Services and repay this amount within a certain term. During the term, monthly installments are paid to BMW Motorrad Financial Services, which also include an agreed interest rate. With the interest, customers pay BMW Motorrad Financial Services for lending them funds for a certain period of time.
In the case of vehicle financing, the amount is paid out to the loan intermediary. The current interest is initially covered from each installment, the remaining part of the installment is used to repay the loan. The interest rate remains the same throughout the term of the contract. Customers may need to provide securities. Further information on the loan agreement with BMW Motorrad Financial Services is available in the loan application.
Customers can request consultation for vehicles from BMW Motorrad Retailers by entering their personal data.
Customers can indicate their interest in having their vehicle traded in by participating trade-in partners and receive a non-binding estimate by entering their personal and vehicle details.
There are various ways to access these options:
1. Stock locator. Customers can search for new bikes with specific configurations. Once they have selected a vehicle, they can purchase , lease, finance or request consultation depending on availability. They can also view similar vehicles.
2. The individual vehicle configuration in the Configurator. After having selected a basic vehicle, customers can create an individual configuration based on this vehicle. They can purchase, lease, finance or request consultation for the configured vehicle. They can also save their configuration, view a summary and view similar vehicles to the one configured.
The decision between purchase, leasing or financing is made after having selected the vehicle as part of the checkout process.
In the case of leasing or financing, the checkout process is followed by an online application for the financial service. This online application is provided on the BMW Financial Services websites.
During checkout, customers can indicate their interest in having their vehicle traded in by participating trade-in partners and receive a non-binding estimate by entering their personal and vehicle details.
A BMW user account (BMW ID) is not required to order a vehicle; in this case, the order can be submitted as a guest.
3) Accessories and services
Customers are provided with extras for their riding experience in the BMW Motorrad Accessories Catalogue . They can search for accessories for vehicles in different product categories and request an offer from a BMW Motorrad Partner online.
In addition to the vehicle, customers can also select parts and accessories online via the website in the Stock locator or in the Configurator, depending on availability. Depending on availability, customers can also select service and maintenance packages for the vehicle online via the website in addition to the vehicle in the Stock locator or in the Configurator.
