Daytime Riding Light.
"Angel Eyes" technology.
BMW Motorrad offers an additional daytime riding light with LED technology as an optional accessory ex works. BMW Motorrad was the first manufacturer to use the "Angel Eyes" with LED technology in the maxi scooters C 600 Sport and C 650 GT, and the technology is now also finding application in the R 1200 GS. For the R 1200 GS for instance, the light unit is made up of four LED modules and is integrated below the main halogen headlamp.
The daytime riding light allows other road users to see the motorcycle much more clearly, and thus significantly increases safety. Other benefits of the LED technology are the reduced energy consumption and very long lifetime. As an alternative to the main headlamp, the daytime riding light can be switched on either automatically via a light sensor, or manually by pressing the "daytime riding light" button. When darkness falls or when entering a tunnel, it automatically switches to the halogen main headlamp, which then optimally illuminates the road and thus provides the rider with the best visibility.
