The power windscreen with memory function is regulated by the GMS basic satellite module, and features electronic anti-trap protection for the very first time. This new feature monitors the current levels in the actuator.
If a surge is detected in the measured current level at a position other than the end position of the windscreen, it retracts automatically. This prevents objects and fingers from becoming trapped between the windscreen and the top of the fairing. When the windscreen is down, it also serves as anti-theft protection for the BMW navigation system, which is available as an optional accessory.
